Days of the week: posting guide

When I was researching the type of content I could/should put into my blog, I read a lot of advice about creating 'how to' content.  Be an expert; offer something no one else can.

Hmm...I thought.  I'm an expert at many things.  I can write a killer proposal, teach you how to play a melodic minor scale, or show someone how to grill a lovely salmon filet.  I am a generalist, and I don't usually offer lots of directives, unless it is directly addressed to my teenage son.  I prefer to share, coach and collaborate.

So, I decided my 'how to' would be sillier and tell a story.  Which made me think of  "How2" fit well with publishing that type of post on Tuesday.  Then I quickly moved to this structure, since I adore alliteration (see!).

Memorable Meal Mondays:  I love food, and one thing that makes travel 'stick' for me.  The two are intertwined, so this is when I'll share more about food and travel experiences.  Imaginary travel via books counts too!

How2 Tuesdays:  I'll tell you how to do something, but you may not want to do it.

Weekly Wednesdays:  Something that happened fairly recently.  This is to motivate me to publish weekly at least.

tbt#:  I've really enjoyed the throw back Thursday phenomenon on Facebook, and I do have lots of photos that apply...

But it's the stories that fit with the photos that I like the most, so I think this is how I'll approach this concept.

Family and Friends Fridays:  Sure, my travels and thoughts will hopefully be interesting at times.  However, I know lots of other people who travel, and I enjoy their stories and photos (within reason with the photos - you CAN share too many photos of a trip).  This is when I'll post either an interview or an account written by them.

Saturday and Sunday:  I need time to travel, right?!
