Midwinter in Muncie
A few weeks ago, I visited my sister Megan and her family in Muncie, Indiana, where we both grew up as kids. Getting there from Madison isn't too long, but neither is it short. This time down I decided to take a chance and drive via Chicago (always a crapshoot). I found that going that way on a Saturday morning worked quite well.
In Lebanon, IN, I took a look at the map on the rest stop wall. I saw that Highway 32 was a straight line over to Muncie, instead of dipping down to Indy and then driving back up to my destination. So, I took the more direct, but stop-and-go path and enjoyed going through all the small towns, especially Noblesville (cute!) and Anderson, where I drove straight through the Anderson University campus.
Once I got to their home, we had Pizza King for dinner per my request. It is an obligatory Muncie thing...kindof the right taste in the right place. The new Siracha Ranch flavor is really good, and I found out Pizza King 'breadstix' are great. I may request all breadstix next time. You can check it all out via the Pizza King Facebook page
Megan had bought some new board games, and this one called "Gobblet" was lots of fun (until I started getting beaten by David) - it's like tic-tac-toe meets Connect 4 and then morphed into 3-D:
Our plans for the next day were thwarted by an ice storm that came in just after I got there and went away just before I had to leave. My sister and I had planned to go to Noblesville (more cuteness!) but that will have to be a post for the future.
Flash, the Ultimate Border Collie:
And David & Hart (cutenesssquared)
Next in this series: Owen and I take a look at the art museum on the Ball State campus.
