Tour de Arkansas: Day 1

As I mentioned in my first (and only) Family and Friends Friday, I had a road trip planned with a family friend of mine, Terry.  He has traveled all over the world, but I thought he would definitely enjoy what Arkansas had to offer.  Here is an overview of some highlights, which I had meant to recap on a daily basis, but we've been on the move or enjoying time with my parents, so here is a look at what we've been up to so far: Day 1:  Downtown Fayetteville: Brunch at Carey Arsaga's Depot location is a perfect way to start the trip. There's a bike trail that runs right along side this renovated building.  We drove up and parked for this trip.  Savory crepes, sweet crepes, and perfect coffee got us of to a good, late-ish start. National Corvette Museum - Bowling Green, Kentucky

The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky is an interesting experience whether you are a sports car fan or not. This tangible ode to the iconic brand first started out as an idea to create a library with archives of the history of the vehicle.  Along the way, the organizers wisely decided to think bigger by including the actual cars. When I proposed this tour stop to Jeff, he immediately remembered there had been a giant sinkhole that opened up under the grand showroom and swallowed several cars into the depths, luckily in the middle of the night so no people were hurt.  The museum now has an exhibit devoted to the sinkhole - explaining how social media was used to communicate and explain the events was fascinating. John zipped through every exhibit in about 5 minutes, so he ended up with lots of down time but seemed fairly (okay, somewhat) interested, for him.  Jeff liked learning about the inner workings and how the cars were constructed.  I...
