What's next for the blog in 2016?

Tonight I started poking around on the stats area of Blogger, to get a better feel for who might be stopping by this blog.  This month, I saw that people from several countries had viewed a page:

It made me smile to think that people I don't know from all around the world were interested enough to click through to one of my blog posts....no telling who read what or if they backed out after realizing it wasn't what they expected or wanted to read.  (Just like I did with a Nautical Living blog - intriguing but not for me).

Some of the things I am thinking about are:
  • Writing schedule:  it's approximately once a week right now, on Wednesdays.  Not counting busy weeks when I don't post.  Need to decide if I am truly going for once a week or not.
  • Family and Friends idea.  Seemed like a great idea in theory, but in practice it hasn't happened having guest posts from people close to me.  Table this goal for a while?
  • The thing I am most nervous about...sharing more broadly.  Part of me enjoys writing just because.  Another part of me wants to share with more people.  Several friends know I write this blog, and many more don't.  How public do I go?  I'm aiming for a decision the beginning of 2016.
  •  If I get more traffic, would I get more comments and interaction?  On one level, I get WAY ENOUGH interaction daily through work emails.  On another, I still recall the thrill I got when someone asked for more feedback on my Wausau post, and how sad I was when she didn't respond.  It's harsh, I tell you...harsh!
  • How more public do I go with identity?  I admire Jodi Ettenberg and her blog and all things to do with soup.  But, she is doing it full time.  I am not and am working.  Privacy vs. Transparency.
  •  Monetizing the blog.  I've looked at the options.  It's intriguing.  But if I don't go more public, then it's a non-starter.  Hmm..
  • Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest.  Okay, I've got 'em.  But I can barely keep up with the blog.  How do these/should these fit in?
If you are reading all the way down this page, please leave me a comment and tell me what you think.  I'm curious to know!

How much to share?
