Broad Ripple Neighborhood, Indy

Last week's work trip was primarily in Indianapolis.  In an unusual turn of events, all five of my appointments were within a 15 minute drive of each other. So excited, because:  That. Never. Happens.  So, once I knew where all I was going, I set out to book my hotel. I found an anomaly with my search - a small boutique-style hotel smack dab in the middle of all my appointments.  How convenient!  And the price was in line with a typical hotel room.  I entered in my date (one night), and my plans were dashed as I saw the price change for that one (Tuesday?!!) night to almost double the price. Dejected, I moved on to do the prudent thing and book at one of the interstate hotels not too far away.  And then I saw the results:  Sold Out/Sold Out/Sold Out.  The closest open hotel was Downtown, for $1 less per night than the one room left at the perfectly-located lodging option.  So I quickly jumped onto Expedia and booked my original, conv...

Flying February and Mad March, 2016

Ah, it feels great to be blogging again.  Since my last post in early February, things have been a little hectic.  Work, schoolwork, activities, and a bit of work and spring break travel pulled attention and time away.  So, here is a quick set of snapshots to commemorate the latest in travel and fun: South Carolina: This work trip brought decent but not extraordinary meals, and much colder and windier weather than I had hoped for.  The marshes that I saw driving from Columbia to the low country were quite beautiful, though. Beaufort had lots of promise, but everything was closed up tight by the time I got there.  Next time.... Granite Peak, Wausau :  The annual family ski trip.  I have new ski duds, so had to go at least once to show them off. Mt. Bohemia, Michigan :  A shout out to this rustic, way-up-yonder ski mountain that is in the Upper Peninsula, or the "you pee" if you will.  Jeff made the 12+ hour round trip, not once...
