Moon over Miami

I'll admit it - the title of this post is a misnomer. I have been thinking about the moon, though. Last month was the Super Blue Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse (such a cool name). It was to be best seen when you were as far west as, say, California. I was all set - a work trip in California, a hotel room that ended up being positioned perfectly, and even to watch it around 4:17 a.m. meant it was 6:17 a.m. my usual time so it would be easy to wake up and catch it. Ultimately, I woke up at 3:30 a.m., looked out for the moon descending, saw nothing yet, crawled back into my hotel bed, and promptly awoke...after the moon had set. And I didn't feel that guilty, but then I felt guilty about not feeling guilty. What was wrong with me, to not be seeking out an amazing spectacle of nature? I accepted the fact that I had four appointments that day, all around the Bay Area, and in order to be fully present at each meeting, and to get from one spot to the other, I needed...
